Commanding Fruitfulness

Spread the love

In Genesis 1:28, God uttered the earliest command to mankind, “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it.” This divine command sets the pace for our prophetic declaration and prayer focus today – Commanding Fruitfulness. Jesus echoed the same mandate in John 15:16, reminding us that we’ve been chosen not just to bear fruit, but that our fruit should remain. As believers, fruitfulness is not an option; it’s our God-given heritage.

In the spiritual context, fruitfulness means yielding the fruits of the Spirit, acquiring prosperity by God’s standards, increasing in divine wisdom, and multiplying in every good work. Fruitfulness goes beyond childbearing; it reflects an abundance of life, resources, influence, and spiritual impact that reshapes our circumstances for divine favor.

Let us remember, however, this fruit-bearing isn’t something we can muster through human effort. It relinquishes its potency when manipulated by human means. We bear fruits as we remain connected to Jesus, the true vine. Our prayers and actions, thus, shouldn’t be aimed at striving for fruitfulness, rather at deeply rooting ourselves in God’s love, will, and word.

Heavenly Father, in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, I declare a season of unprecedented fruitfulness over every aspect of our lives. Just as You commanded the barren fig tree to wither, I decree that every barren area in my life shall bear fruit abundantly. I speak life to dormant dreams, unproductive endeavors, and fruitless efforts. By faith I declare that my barren fields are yielding bountiful harvest.

Lord, let the seeds of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control flourish in my character. I rebuke any hindrance to our productivity and align my heart with Your divine purpose. May my life be a testimony of Your goodness, bringing forth fruits that glorify Your name. As I abide in You, I trust that my branches will bear much fruit, showcasing Your glory and drawing others into the abundant life found in Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name,
Amen!
